The channel is a shaped area of low resistance running through the core, changing how the product behaves in use: faster absorption, no barrier between fluid and absorbent pearls; even front-to-back distribution; a stronger wetblock reducing leak risk at the sides, front and back; a less bulky, better-fitting core; softer materials and extra protection at the back.
Laboratory testing (December 2023) measured absorption speed of around 10 seconds for the channelled core against 44–50 seconds for comparable non-channelled adult pants, with wider liquid distribution (21 cm vs 14–15 cm). An independent in-home usage test (Mérieux NutriSciences, 60 pants users, France, March–April 2023) scored the channelled version at or above the non-channelled one on anti-leak effectiveness, hold, dryness, flexibility and odour masking, with 80% of users ready to buy.
